Locked Away

And speaking of Zaki Gordon Institute and what their students can accomplish …

This odd exercise in paranoia starred little ol’ me and was directed by Abby Kwiatkowski, ZGI graduate. It was a Remi Winner at the 45th Annual WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival.

Looking to Attend Film School? Think Arizona!

ZGI is hands down the best deal in the country.

However, keeping the costs low is not the primary goal. The film school’s primary goal is to help you launch your filmmaking career by providing professional mentorship, hands-on instruction and on-set experience. When you choose the Zaki Gordon Institute you are choosing to MAKE movies, not just learn about making movies.

Everyone who graduates has made their own short film.

ZGI is fortunate to receive funding from a variety of sources. They are always looking for ways to keep program costs low and continue to purchase new, state-of-the-art equipment for students. The philosophy is you learn by doing, not by sitting in a classroom. So they give you all the basics of filmmaking from script to screen in an intensive year. Then you have the choice to take the fifty thousand dollars you would have spent at another school (on tuition or a thesis film—if you were lucky enough to have your project selected) and go out and make your feature film.

ZGI teaches one thing, how to make movies. If you want to take film criticism classes on the French New Wave, we’re not for you. Script to screen in a year, that’s what they do.

As our readers know, haRMFul Productions and 69 Flavors of Paranoia totally support the indie film scene. We support the makers and the shakers of the indie film scene. Help us support the school that is cranking out some of the best indie student films around, the Zaki Gordon Institute.

Some Very Tasteful Attire

Ever make a bet that you’d eat your own hat if _____________ (fill in the blank)?

Thanks to Austrian top chef Roland Trettl, fulfilling that bet just got a little easier. We now invite you to take a gander at what they’re calling fashion, nowadays… (Kudos to experimental photographer Helge Kirchberger for making those models look good enough to eat!)
